The World's First Beer Summit
(In dedication to America's Oneness)
Ha, ha! Let us pretend the glass of beer tastes good,
That our minds gathered here to refresh
Oh, the White House and its soft green lawn
How beautiful it is, our soul our flesh!
Oh, my America, how lovely you are!
The beers metamorphose insults into nonchalance
Let's bring about a rapprochement
Here, bottoms up my two fellow Americans!
Live life to the fullest, please do not drive after a beer;
Take your time, indulge yourself with a nice walk
When you feel hatred towards somebody,
Just because of your inner self, not the outer skin, don't "talk"!
To the President, the Professor and the Policeman:
A beer to you from the impecunious Poet -- with God's grace --
Let's laugh at our human imperfections,
Life is too short to be stuck in the realm of "race". . .

“As an American, in the 21st century, I cannot appreciate the thought in which one should hold the issue “race” hostage in his own terms.” --Linh Duy Vo, July 31, 2009
An afterthought inspired by the meeting of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., Police Sgt. James Crowley on the White House lawn, July 30, ‘09
